Product No.767W
Model:SB Pulling Tool
Description/Application
The Model SB pulling tool is to retrieve subsurface flow control equipments, wireline tools etc.
The Pulling Tool is designed for operations in which extensive upward jarring is required to pull the subsurface flow control equipment.
The tool is designed to pull any subsurface flow control equipment with an external fishing neck. The core comes in various lengths and may be change in the field to accommodate the fishing necks on various flow controls.

Operation
The Model SB pulling tool is jar down to shear the tool, which may be used in either setting, or retrieving of subsurface tools.
Used when there is a jar down to shear operation, such as in the setting of tubing stops.
Operation (as a Running Tool)
1. Screw the Pulling Tool on the bottom end of a standard string of wireline tools (rope socket, sinker and jar).
2. Insert the fishing neck of the flow control device to be run in the well into the bottom of the type SB Pulling Tool and push the tools together until full engagement is achieved.
3. Run the assembled equipment into the well. When the flow control device lands in the seating nipple or other receptacle in which it is to operate, jar downward lightly to overcome the friction force caused by the seals on the flow control device as it moves to its final operating position.
Then jar downward repeatedly with the full weight of the wireline tool string to shear the shear pin to release the Pulling Tool so it can be disengaged from the flow control device.
4. Retrieve the wireline tool string and type SB Pulling Tool.
Operation (as a Pulling Tool)
1.Screw the Pulling Tool on the bottom end of a standard string of wireline tools (rope socket, sinker bars and jars) and run in the well.
2. When the Pulling Tool contacts the item to be retrieved from the well, set down the full weight of the wireline tool string engagement with the flow control device fishing neck.
3. Pull or jar upward as necessary to free the flow control device from its seating nipple or landing receptacle.
4. Retrieve the wireline tool string, Pulling Tool and flow control device.
Releasing The Pulling Tool (at the surface)
To release the Pulling Tool from the fishing neck of the retrieved item, squeeze the upper end of the dogs inward with releasing tool. When the upper ends of the dogs are squeezed inward, their lower ends pivot outward to a position where the dogs no longer engage the pulling flange of the fishing neck. The retrieved device can then be with-drawing from the Pulling Tool.
